THE JOKER (work in progress)

It was while recently watching a repeat of the original 1960's Batman tv series that gave me the inspiration for this.
I thought it would make a nice change to pay tribute to Cesar Romero's Joker character as it was one of my favorite as a kid and still is to this day.

ANOTHER GIFT CARICATURE

Here's one that was presented to a colleague in work last week, to commemorate their time spent as Head of the department that I work for.
Unfortunately I wasn't there when the finished version was presented but by all accounts, it went down very well indeed!!

This is an updated version of an attempt I made about three years ago that ended up being temporarily shelved so I decided to give a bit of a makeover.

ELVIS PRELVIS

I started this a week or so ago but it still needs a bit of tweaking.
The folks over on the Drawing Board have given me some helpful pointers so hopefully it'll help with the likeness a bit more.......


Just for the record, this is how I actually wanted it to look. I kind of cheated by doing this but for the benefit of the purists out there, I'll be re-drawing it from scratch to get it right.



Here's another update, As you can see, I've gone against my better judgement and decided to stick with the original shaped face.

In fact, I'm not sure I've done it justice with this drawing. I think it's a bit on the tame side but I'm happy enough with it....for now.

CARICATURE EXHIBITION!

I was recently asked to submit some of my work for an upcoming exhibition being held in Edinburgh at the end of November.
This is something of a first for me so it's very exciting, not only to be have my work shown in public but also to have it shown alongside some of the best and most talented caricature artists around. Sadly, I won't be able to be there myself but if you're from or near the area, please stop by and check it out!!

OBAMA MARK II

I didn't feel my first Obama attempt was turning out how I wanted so I decided to give it another approach from a completely different perspective:

Strangely enough, this is my first time doing this guy. Not sure what took me so long seeing as every other caricature artist I know has drawn him at least 20 times.

NEW PROMOTIONAL BANNER

Well, after nearly three years of doing live caricatures, I finally got my act together and invested in some new self-promotional material.
This is a roller display banner that was put together for me at very short notice (thanks to Declan and the guys at Snap printing!!) and I have to say, I'm chuffed to bits with the way it turned out!!

WAYNE ROONEY

Yet another old pen sketch I found lying in the vaults that needed a bit of life injected into it! If my memory serves me right, none of the footballers I've caricatured have been Liverpool players. ARGH!

GEORGE LUCAS

It's not often that I draw full bodies so I decided to start getting into the habit with this effort. Not sure if this idea has already been done but what the hell........
There's still a bit of rendering to be done on this so I'll be posting updates.

RICKY GERVAIS

This is yet another caricature I did a while back and was never really happy with so I decided to have another shot at him. I'm still not sure it's him though. There's something about that mouth...........

Update: I've made a few changes. I think I'm a lot happier with this version......

NICK CAVE

This started out as a rough sketch a few months ago and I decided to revisit it to give it the colour treatment. It's still a bit rough but it's an improvement........I think.
